Interesting History in this quiet area of lakes.
Wind Lake is located in the Town of Norway. A beautiful neighborhood of homes surrounds the 919 acre lake with a depth of 47 feet. The Town of Norway was settled when, under the leadership of John Luraas, forty pioneers came to Wisconsin from Norway in 1839, to found one of the most important settlements in
Norwegian-American history. Nearby Heg Park commemorates this with several original log buildings while also honoring Colonel Hans C. Heg, one of Wisconsin's Civil War heroes.
Nearby Meyer Park is an 18-acre Town Park comprised of baseball, softball and t-ball diamonds, walking trail, sledding hill, playground, basketball hoops, soccer field, meadow gardens, picnic pavilions, the historic Meyer Park Barn and is connected to the Racine County Bike Trail.
